This Week 1/19/09

Ways to Pray & Praise this Week for our Community:
1. Prayers for our Community: Ministries. Pray for the ministries that are active in our community. Pray that they will be founded on God's truth, anointed by God's power and funded by God's people. Pray for refreshed vision and encouragement upon the dedicated workers who labor in specialized service designed to increase the impact of the local church. Think of a specific ministry and thank God for them.
Send a note of encouragement this week to the ministry of your choice. Take some time to volunteer. Commit to praying for them this year!
(The "Prayers for our Community" topics come from past Seek God for the City guides. See below for how to get your own prayer guide for 2009 and join with others for 40 days of praying for our community this spring)

2. Church/Ministry of the Week: New Life Church of God
We thank God for New Life Church of God! Please pray for God's blessing & leading for this church. We thank God for their pastor, Forest Ash , as well as this congregation of believers. May this church continue as a shining light for Christ in our community. May Christ's kingdom expand through His body in this region and beyond!

3. School of the Week: Jones Elementary School
Please pray for Jones Elementary School. Principal is Mr. Mitch Miller. Thank God for the teachers & staff who serve our community daily. Pray for guidance and wisdom for each teacher and staff member. Pray for the students to desire to learn and grow, fulfilling their God-given destiny. Pray that all, teachers, students and staff, would come to know and follow Christ as their Savior and Lord. Pray for the Good News Club that meets there. May many come to Christ through the faithful volunteers sharing Christ each week!

4. Pray for our new president and our nation. May we honor God as a nation in our actions and laws. Pray for wisdom and Godly counselors for our new president. Pray for revival in our nation!

5. Watchword for the week from Scripture: How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17

362/0
Keep praying for more to begin and grow in their relationship with Christ!
Keep sending us your reports of salvation. God is moving!
362 is the number of known salvations reported so far for 2008 in our community.
We are just starting to collect for 2009.
We praise God for each one who has begun their walk of faith in Christ!
Pray that they would be rooted and grounded in the faith.
Let's plunder hell and populate heaven!
