This Week 1/12/09 HOPE for Portage

Here is what's happening this week....
HOPE for Portage, A House of Prayerful Expectation

Ways to Pray & Praise this Week for our Community:

1. Prayers for our Community: Business People. Pray for the business people in our region. In these difficult economic days, may the businessmen and women walk in integrity and uprightness. May God bless those who base business practices in righteiousness. Pray that God will prosper those who pursue their business as a mission for God's kingdom. Pray for wisdom for the business owners as they must make many tough decisions. Pray for the gospel to spread in the marketplace. Pray that God would frustrate plans which escalate injustice and shake the dominion of mammon and greed.
2. Church/Ministry of the Week: Portage Christian Fellowship
We thank God for Portage Christian Fellowship! Please pray for God's blessing & leading for this church. We thank God for their pastor, Ken Miller, as well as this congregation of believers. Praise God for them! Each month they assemble our community prayer calendars and are praying for us all. Let's pray for them! They are asking for prayer for effective outreach into their community, including their Thursday night Kids Klub. May God answer their prayers to see many come into the kingdom and be transformed in Christ. May this church continue as a shining light for Christ in our community. May Christ's kingdom expand through His body in this region and beyond!
3. School of the Week: Kyle Elementary High School
Please pray for Kyle Elementary School. Principal is Mr. Psimos. Thank God for the teachers & staff who serve our community daily. Pray for guidance and wisdom for each teacher and staff member. Pray for the students to desire to learn and grow, fulfilling their God-given destiny. Pray that all, teachers, students and staff, would come to know and follow Christ as their Savior and Lord.
4. Praise & Prayer for Community Outreaches & Ministry Requests:
Child Evangelism Fellowship: Today starts the Myers Good News Club. Tomorrow, Saylor kicks off. Next week, Boone Grove. The Dyer club has faced some legal battles; please continue to pray for an open door for the Gospel! Pray that in each school the clubs will have favor with the teachers, administrators, staff, parents and kids! Thank God for the doors He has opened and hearts He is preparing to hear His Word. If you would like more info about Good News Clubs or to volunteer to help, contact Beth at 465-0201.
5 . Watchword for the week from Scripture: Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name; worship the Lord in holy splendor. Psalm 29:2

362/0
Up 4 since last report! Only 4 away from 1 a day in 2008.
Keep praying for more to begin and grow in their relationship with Christ! Keep sending us your reports of salvation. God is moving! 362 is the number of known salvations reported so far for 2008 in our community. We are just starting to collect for 2009. We praise God for each one who has begun their walk of faith in Christ! Pray that they would be rooted and grounded in the faith.
Let's plunder hell and populate heaven!
