HOPE for Portage, A House of Prayerful Expectation
Ways to Pray & Praise this Week for our Community:
1. Pray for Pastors . Thank God for the amazing pastors in our area. Pray thaty they will be filled with wisdom. May they be honored by those they serve. Pray that God will pour His Spirit upon them in power and humility, giving fresh intimacy with Jesus. Pray that their time with the Lord and their families would be protected and preserved. Pray that deep friendships and unity would grow between the pastors in our region.
2. Church/Ministry of the Week: Bible Baptist Church
Please pray for God's blessing & leading for Bible Baptist Church. Thank God for their pastor, Don Goode. Pray that they would be an effective witness for Christ in this community. Praise God for placing them in our community. May they be a light for Christ in this community!
3. Pray for those serving in short-term missions from our community.
(If you know of others, just let us know and we can add them)
Stephanie Morris: June 2-August 2, Swaziland. Pray for Stephanie to finish well as they travel back this week.
Sarah Kidd: summer missions to Thailand
Josiah Addison, Mariam Vale, Marah Vale, Leah Dujmovich, and Mary O'Hara: Summer missionaries with Child Evangelism Fellowship. They are available to teach Backyard Bible Clubs. To schedule a club, call 465-0201.
Marie McKee: August 4-15, Serving in Syria
Dan Flowers: August, Serving in Mexico
Pastor Randy Forsythe, August 17-27, Evangelistic crusades in Ukraine.
4. Pray for HOPE's Kids Summer Spectacular: Please pray for our last week of this summer outreach. Pray for our teacher this week, Lindsey Shay, as well as our other leaders. We thank God for all He has done! We are close to our missions goal of providing a musical instrument for an orphanage in Romania. 5. Pray for Area VBS: Please pray for all the vacation Bible schools in our area. The Lord is using these times to bring children to Christ! Still to come in August is Portage 1st United Methodist and Victory Christian Center VBS . If you know of others, please let us know so we can include them in our prayers. Please pray for each as they prepare. May they be effective witnesses for Christ. Our kids are precious to God. May they come to know Him as their Savior and Lord.
6. Pray for Upcoming Community Outreaches:
Tie Us Together: Pray for this interdenominational women's conference this Saturday, August 2nd. (More info below)
ShareFest: Pray for the identification of the partnering churches & community projects. ShareFest will be on October 11, but the planning starts now. Believe with us for God to raise up the leadership team for all 4 communities: Valpo, Portage, Chesterton & Kouts. Pray for increased unity throughout the churches of Northwest Indiana. 7. Praise God for Salvation: Check out the new number below! God is moving! 10 are from VBS, 2 from revival, and 1 from a believer sharing his faith with a new collegue.
8. Watchword for the week from Scripture: God, turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your custom toward those who love your name. Psalm 119:132

Up 13 again this week! Keep sending us your reports of salvation. God is moving!
180 is the number of known salvations reported so far for 2008 in our community.
We praise God for each one who has begun their walk of faith in Christ!
Pray that they would be rooted and grounded in the faith.
Let's plunder hell and populate heaven!
