Ways to Pray & Praise this Week for our Community:

1. Prayer for our Community: Storm Damage in Chesterton Last week's storms brought much devastation to our brothers & sisters in Chesterton. Please continue to pray for them as they continue to clean up and repair. Praise God for His protection over peoples' lives during the storm.

2. Church/Ministry of the Week: Lakeview Baptist Church
This week, we are praying for Lakeview Baptist Church. We thank God for placing them in our community! Thank God for their pastor, Ronnie Cox. Pray for God's blessing and leading on this congregation. May they serve as a faithful witness for Jesus Christ, brightly shining His light into our community and beyond.

137 ~Up 1!!! Keep praying for more to begin and grow in their relationship with Christ! Keep sending us your reports of salvation. God is moving! 137 is the number of known salvations reported so far for 2009 in our community. We praise God for each one who has begun their walk of faith in Christ! Pray that they would be rooted and grounded in the faith. Let's plunder hell and populate heaven!

ACCOMPANIST NEEDED
Portage 1st United Methodist Church
Portage First United Methodist Church is seeking applicants for the position of Accompanist, which will be open as of September 1. This is a part-time job position that has responsibilities on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings (8:30 & 10:00 worship services). At the minimum,this person would need to have piano skills, the ability to read printed music, and availability year-round. This person will need to be able not only to "perform" but to help lead worship with music. Ideally, we would love to have someone with both piano and organ abilities.
