Ways to Pray & Praise this Week for our Community:
1. Prayers for our Community: Police Officers In honor of National Police Week, we will be praying for our police officers & their families this week. Thank God for them and their willingness to risk their lives for our protection. Thank God for those that have given their all for us! Pray for the families. May God grant them strength and peace amidst their struggles. Pray for the safety as well as the day to day pressures the police officers face. Pray for their chief, Mark Becker. Thank God for them!
2. Church/Ministry of the Week: Salvation Army of Porter County
This week you're praying for The Salvation Army. They are doing an amazing work of reaching out with the love of Christ while meeting the physical needs of individuals. While most known for their kettle campaign at Christmas and the way they respond to disasters around the world, they also are a local church, have a food pantry for the needy, do Angel Tree at Christmas, and offer many programs that benefit the families of Porter County. Let's pray for their continued faithful witness for Christ in this area. Pray for their pastors: Majors Jonathon & Kim Welch. May they fulfill the call God has for them! May Christ's light be seen in every corner of our community!
3. School of the Week: Saylor Elementary School
Please pray for Saylor Elementary School. The principal is Mr. Ken Galik. Please pray for all the students, teachers and staff. May they know the Lord and walk with Him. Pray for the Good News Club that meets there. May they have an effective witness in this school. Thank God for the teachers and staff who serve our community every day. May the students have a desire to learn and fulfill their destiny in Christ.
4. Pray for those serving on Short Term Missions:
Amanda Chinn, May 7-19: serving in Honduras with Bethel College Team. They will be working with street evangelism, orphanages, construction, puppet shows, crafts, story time.. CHILDREN!!!
5. Ministry Needs from our Community:
Real Life Community Church: Please be praying for them as they begin their search for a new Lead Pastor. Thank God for Pastor Duane Schmidt who will be retiring on May 30th after 22 years of faithful ministry in our community. May God lead this church as they seek Him.
6. Watchword for the week from Scripture: Jesus says, "Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me." John 15:4

Up 1 this week! Praise God for how He is moving in our community!Keep praying for more to begin and grow in their relationship with Christ! Keep sending us your reports of salvation. God is moving! 98 is the number of known salvations reported so far for 2009 in our community. We praise God for each one who has begun their walk of faith in Christ! Pray that they would be rooted and grounded in the faith. Let's plunder hell and populate heaven!
